Commercial auto faces a structural challenge. Fleets generate large amounts of driving and vehicle data, yet insurers struggle to use it. Data comes from different systems, in different formats, with inconsistent signal quality. Only a small share of commercial policies use telematics today, even though many vehicles are already connected. The gap between what data exists and what insurers can reliably price from keeps growing.

At the same time, small fleets remain disconnected, leaving a major portion of the market without any reliable risk visibility. Even for connected fleets, onboarding and consent workflows vary widely, slowing down adoption. The industry hasn’t aligned on what “good data” looks like or how to apply it consistently across underwriting and pricing.

The Commercial Insurance Summit brings senior leaders together to take on these challenges directly.
