CMT to Host Summit on the Future of Commercial Auto Insurance
Industry leaders convene to address underwriting, pricing, claims, risk management, and real-world safety improvements
Cambridge, MA, March 20, 2026 — Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), the world’s largest telematics and AI company for safer mobility, will host the Commercial Insurance Summit on March 26, 2026. This invitation-only event brings together senior leaders from commercial auto insurers and telematics service providers (TSPs) to address improving fleet insurance profitability through driving data and AI.
Commercial auto insurance is at a turning point. Fleets generate vast amounts of driving and vehicle data, yet most insurers are still unable to use it consistently in underwriting and pricing. Fewer than 5% of commercial policies currently use telematics data, even though a significant portion of vehicles are already connected. The result is limited risk visibility, premium leakage, resulting in rising loss ratios, and unrecognized safety savings for fleets.
At the same time, large segments of the market remain unconnected, leaving insurers without reliable insight into a meaningful portion of their portfolios. Even for connected fleets, data is fragmented across providers, formats, and varying levels of granularity, making it difficult for commercial auto insurers to use for risk assessment and underwriting validation.
CMT is bringing the industry together to address these challenges and define a new model for commercial auto insurance, one built on standardized, high-frequency telematics data and AI.
Central to this shift is DriveWell Fleet, CMT’s commercial telematics platform, which enables insurers to have full coverage across both connected and unconnected vehicles. By integrating data from leading TSPs and supplementing it with proprietary hardware, DriveWell Fleet delivers consistent, high-quality driving insights across a commercial auto insurer’s entire book of business. This allows insurers to improve pricing accuracy, strengthen underwriting decisions, and identify risk earlier in the policy lifecycle.
DriveWell Fleet already integrates with leading telematics providers including Samsara, Verizon Connect, Lytx, Netradyne, Linxup, and GPS Insight, covering a majority of the connected commercial vehicle market. For fleets without existing telematics systems, CMT provides hardware solutions that expand coverage without complex installation.
“Commercial auto insurance is changing fast, but most insurers still don’t leverage driving data to understand risk,” said Jamie Landers, SVP of Commercial Mobility Products at CMT. “Much of the industry is still pricing off lagging indicators rather than real-time driving behavior. This makes it hard to price risk accurately and reward fleets for safer driving. This summit is about bringing the industry together to build the future of commercial auto insurance, transforming fragmented data into consistent, real-time insights that insurers can use to improve pricing and help fleets operate more safely.”
The summit features perspectives from industry leaders including Dr. Hari Balakrishnan, Co-Founder and CTO of CMT, and Matteo Carbone, Founder of the IoT Insurance Observatory, alongside executives from leading commercial insurers and TSPs. Sessions will focus on how telematics is being deployed today across underwriting, pricing, claims, and risk management, with an emphasis on real-world implementation.
The Commercial Insurance Summit is invitation-only, with limited seats remaining. Executives responsible for commercial auto strategy, underwriting, claims, and innovation are invited to apply at: https://www.cmtelematics.com/commercial-insurance-summit-form-2026-public-rsvp/
