Cambridge Mobile Telematics wins Pinnacle Award for Technology
StreetVision is recognized for making cities smarter and safer, using AI to predict and prevent crashes
Cambridge, MA, July 2, 2026 — Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), the world’s largest telematics and AI company for safer mobility, today announced that StreetVision has received a Platinum Pinnacle Award for Urban Infrastructure Innovation in the Technology category, recognizing its real-world impact on road safety. The Pinnacle Awards honor companies that lead with vision and drive ongoing market growth, judged annually by a panel of industry executives, media professionals, and consultants.
StreetVision is the first AI road safety platform to predict and prevent crashes. It unifies federal and state crash records with real-time behavioral data at the intersection level, giving transportation agencies daily visibility into distraction, speeding, and hard braking across every corridor, intersection, school zone, and work zone.
The most distracted drivers are 240% more likely to crash. Drivers who brake hard most frequently are 130% more likely to crash. Both behaviors were previously invisible to the agencies responsible for preventing them. StreetVision changes that.
Today, StreetVision is enabling state and city transportation officials to identify emerging risk, prioritize safety investments, and measure the impact of countermeasures within weeks of deployment.
“Too many crashes are still invisible until it’s too late to stop them,” said William V. Powers, Co-Founder and CEO of CMT. “StreetVision changes that by giving us a real-time picture of where risk is building, before the next crash happens. This is what it looks like to move an entire industry from reactive to proactive. We will keep building the tools the world needs to get ahead of risk, not just respond to it.”
“The advancements we are witnessing in the Smart Cities and Public Sector Tech category are fundamentally reshaping how our communities operate and move,” said Kate Lang, Executive Director for the Pinnacle Awards. “We are incredibly proud to honor Cambridge Mobile Telematics with a Platinum award for Urban Infrastructure Innovation. By leveraging AI to revolutionize intelligent infrastructure and driver safety, CMT isn’t just creating smarter environments—they are paving the way for safer, more efficient, and more resilient cities for everyone. Huge congratulations to the entire team on this incredibly well-deserved recognition.”
Since its launch, StreetVision has been deployed by state departments of transportation across Arkansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming. Agencies across the country use StreetVision daily to support Vision Zero initiatives, infrastructure planning, and grant applications under the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A), and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) programs.
In Flagstaff, Arizona, a signalized intersection converted to a roundabout produced a 24.5% reduction in hard braking and a 14% reduction in phone distraction within weeks. In Kenmore, Washington, 24/7 speed camera enforcement in a school zone produced a 30% reduction in speeding within two weeks.
