March 25, 2026

Cambridge, MA March 25, 2026 Cambridge Mobile Telematics Inc. (CMT), the world’s largest telematics and AI company for safer mobility, is proud to announce that it has been named a winner in the 2026 Artificial Intelligence Excellence Awards, in the category of AI for Social Good. Presented by the Business Intelligence Group, the award recognizes organizations, products, teams, and individuals that are applying artificial intelligence in ways that drive real, measurable impact.

The 2026 Artificial Intelligence Excellence Awards honor achievement across a broad range of industries and use cases, spotlighting the companies and leaders moving AI beyond experimentation and into practical, accountable deployment. This year’s program recognized winners across 36 industries and more than 15 countries.

CMT was recognized for its work to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. Specifically, DriveWell Atlas, the first AI foundation model for telematics, StreetVision, the first AI platform that predicts crash locations, and AI-powered personalized safe driving challenges. Through this work, CMT has helped prevent more than 100,000 crashes worldwide by reducing high-risk behaviors such as phone distraction, hard braking, and speeding. Across large-scale studies, high-risk drivers engaged through CMT programs reduced phone distraction by 20%, hard braking by 20%, and speeding by 27%, leading to a 5.5% reduction in bodily injury crash risk. CMT’s technology has measured and protected over 55 million drivers across 25 countries, helping insurers reduce claims costs while saving consumers billions through safer driving and lower loss ratios.

“AI has arrived! 2026 is about execution, accountability, and results,” said Russ Fordyce, Chief Recognition Officer, Business Intelligence Group. “Cambridge Mobile Telematics stood out because its work in AI for Social Good reflects where the market is headed: practical AI that solves real problems, earns trust, and delivers measurable value. This recognition highlights a team that is not just participating in the AI shift, but helping define what meaningful progress looks like.”

“We’re honored to be recognized in the 2026 Artificial Intelligence Excellence Awards,” said William V. Powers, Co-Founder and CEO of CMT. “We’re focused on using AI to make mobility safer and improve people’s daily lives. The way we move through the world is changing, and AI is central to that shift. It allows us to understand risk in entirely new ways and take action to prevent crashes and save lives. This recognition reflects the work of our team and the trust our customers place in us to deliver real impact.”

The Artificial Intelligence Excellence Awards celebrate the people and organizations leading the next phase of AI adoption, where innovation is judged not just by novelty, but by impact. Winners are selected based on how effectively they are using AI to improve performance, reduce friction, solve meaningful problems, and move their industries forward.
