Cambridge Mobile Telematics Ranks No. 61 on Fast Company’s Seventh Annual List of the 100 Best Workplaces for Innovators
Global telematics leader recognized for delivering life-saving innovation

Cambridge, MA — September 9, 2025 — Fast Company today announced its seventh annual Best Workplaces for Innovators list, recognizing businesses that foster a culture of innovation across all levels. Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), the world’s largest telematics service provider, earned the No. 61 spot for its industry-defining telematics solutions and workplace culture that empowers employees to create life-saving technologies.
The 2025 Best Workplaces for Innovators list ranks 100 winners across industries such as entertainment, biotech, consumer packaged goods, marketing, education, and healthcare. To be considered, applicants detailed their investment in innovation, internal programs, and company culture. Final selections were made by Fast Company’s editors, who evaluated every application and conducted extensive research to generate a score for each company. A distinguished panel of judges then reviewed the top-rated companies.
“Innovation is at the core of our mission to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. It’s how we’ve helped protect more than 55 million drivers and worked with our partners to prevent over 100,000 crashes,” said William V. Powers, Co-Founder and CEO of Cambridge Mobile Telematics. “Every team at CMT is focused on the next breakthrough that reduces risk, prevents crashes, and saves lives. This recognition from Fast Company reflects the creativity and dedication of our people, who never stop working to prevent the next crash.”
CMT’s culture of innovation has transformed mobility and road safety worldwide. Its DriveWell® Fusion platform and suite of products have helped prevent over 100,000 crashes, delivered life-saving help after accidents, saved consumers billions in insurance premiums, and accelerated the claims process. CMT powers over 130 mobility programs around the world, protecting tens of millions of people every day. As one driver put it: “Your app literally saved my life.”
Beyond product innovation, CMT invests heavily in its people. The company hosts regular hackathons where employees prototype new solutions, driving advances in crash detection, road risk warning systems, and street-level analyses. Its Career Advancement Program (CAP) develops talent through rotational assignments, mentorship, and leadership training. CMT supports professional growth with education reimbursement and a mentorship program that connects employees across teams and levels.
“Each year, we’re inspired by the companies and leaders who prove that innovation doesn’t happen by accident — it’s the result of intentional choices to empower people at every level,” said Brendan Vaughan, editor-in-chief of Fast Company. “The organizations on this year’s Best Workplaces for Innovators list show that when you build a culture where creativity and risk-taking are valued, breakthrough ideas inevitably follow”.
