Vodafone Germany launches telematics app for car insurers

Vodafone Germany launched a new app-based telematics services for car insurers to help track driver behaviour. Via sensors in the customer’s smartphone, their driving behavior is recorded in the app.
The data analysis to come up with personal driving scores is carried out in a central telematics server and then shared with the insurer. Users can view their individual ratings for each trip in the app and receive tips on how to improve their driving behavior and lower their insurance premiums.
Wuerttembergische Versicherung is the first insurer in the German market to offer the new Vodafone Telematics App for customers under the age of 30 from the beginning of July.
