Drunk driving has always been perceived as one of the gravest threats to road safety. With the introduction of severe punitive measures by regulators and awareness campaigns by private organizations, the number of drunk driving fatalities has fallen by one third in the last three decades.
However, smartphone penetration has led to the advent of an equally serious epidemic – distracted driving. An independent survey commissioned by CMT shows that 63% of drivers are more afraid of distracted drivers than drunk drivers.
