Data Scientist

Cambridge, MA

As a Data Scientist on our data team, you would handle a diverse set of problems, ranging from probabilistic inference on phone trajectories, data fusion between noisy sensors, modeling and classification of driving behavior, and data visualization.  Given the scale of data involved, many of the experiments run in the cloud.

Your role:

  • Understanding data flow in a large, distributed system
  • Designing, coding and executing data investigations
  • Performing robust statistical analyses
  • Producing internal presentations, customer reports and visualizations to summarize the conclusions

Required Skills:

  • Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • 3+ years performing data analysis on real world data
  • Strong programming skills for constructing and understanding data pipelines, particularly in Python (scipy/numpy) and SQL
  • Experience with modern/emerging scalable computing platforms and languages (e.g. Spark)

Cambridge Mobile Telematics (cmtelematics.com, Cambridge, MA) is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to help shape CMT’s voice relative to the mobile telematics market and promoting safe driving.  In this role you will drive positioning and messaging for CMT’s DriveWell program, key features, and underlying technologies.  You will work with all parts of the organization to gain a solid understanding of our solution and technologies, create customer-facing marketing and sales materials and help manage CMT’s marketing plans.  We are looking for a creative thinker with a technical background and strong writing skills.  The ideal candidate will be able to present and write compelling, well-articulated content for fast-moving mobile smartphone solutions.

Your role:

  • Drive CMT’s positioning and messaging for our DriveWell solution
  • Create compelling stories and content for our website, blog, newsletters, press releases, white papers, and product sheets
  • Write press releases coordinated around product launches, joint ventures, and campaigns
  • Research markets, competitors, and industry trends
  • Manage social media accounts and activity (Twitter and LinkedIn) to engage community
  • Facilitate show/conference attendance and exhibition

Your Qualifications:

  • 3+ years product marketing experience in fast growth technology companies, ideally with strong foundation in mobile solutions
  • Ability to dig in and understand CMT’s technology
  • Innovative and creative thinker who can take complex ideas and clearly convey them to the market
  • Experience in creating materials for marketing campaigns, blog posts, press releases, industry publications, white papers, product sheets, tweets, and other collateral
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Ability to collaborate well with multiple internal teams (sales, engineering, and product)
  • BS/BA degree in Marketing or Technology-based field
