Technical Project Manager
Cambridge, MA

Help us shape the Mobile Telematics Industry!

CMT’s mission is to make drivers smarter and roads safer. We pioneered the development of smartphone telematics services and big data analytics to offer a behavior-based program to automotive insurance companies and, more broadly, the connected car ecosystem. We are the market leader with key mobile telematics and big data expertise, yet we are always striving to learn more and innovate further. CMT was founded in 2010 but we are still small and maintain a startup culture – often experimenting and nimbly adjusting to the needs of our customers and the market.

Cambridge Mobile Telematics (cmtelematics.com, Cambridge, MA) is seeking a Technical Project Manager who speaks German to lead customer implementations of our DriveWell Program.

As a Technical Project Manager you will have an important customer-facing role at CMT by guiding our customers through the implementation process. This involves educating them on our mobile telematics white-labeled apps and analytics platform, understanding their goals and requirements, collaborating with them regarding how the DriveWell program can satisfy their needs, and communicating status updates to them. Also, you will communicate your customers’ needs and requirements to the engineering and QA teams, making sure the requirements are clear and determining how the DriveWell features can be implemented to satisfy them.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage new customer implementations by working with customers to clarify their needs, set their expectations, and obtain the necessary information and deliverables from them.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers beyond initial implementations and coordinate new requirements and feature requests in follow-on product releases.
  • Answer customer questions regarding how our solution works, what is feasible in our solution, and what is needed from them for their implementation.
  • Manage the process of collecting assets and feature configurations from customers and writing detailed requirements as JIRA issues.
  • Discuss customer requirements with engineering and QA teams, including timeline, and explain JIRA issues as necessary.
  • Help update JIRA issues/tasks, assignees, and deadlines in JIRA and participate in sprint planning and review meetings.
  • Keep track of progress on customer implementations relative to their expectations and communicate updates to customers as well as engineers/QA.
  • Identify new product enhancements and communicate them to product management so they can be evaluated for the roadmap.
  • Participate in product feature discussions.
  • Help write requirements for new product features.

Required Skills

  • 3-7 years of experience as a project manager in the software industry.
  • Speak German fluently.
  • Excellent writing skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly understand our mobile and web-based technology and be able articulate it to our customers.
  • Strong communication skills both with external customers and internal team members.
  • Able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize them.
  • Able to follow a clear process and contribute to the improvement of this process.
  • Able to clearly define customer requirements and write detailed feature specs for engineers.
  • Desire to be a team player and work in a collaborative environment.
  • Curious – Interested in learning new concepts and technologies.

Additional Skills

  • Experience with mobile app development.
  • Analytical or technical background.
