Web Developer

Cambridge, MA

We do this by developing innovative software and hardware products that measure driver safety and provide insightful feedback about how drivers become better. We couple this with leaderboards, competitions, rewards, and other incentives to incite behavior change. Our products are in use by millions of drivers, with proven results: users of our software show reductions of 40% or more in risky behaviors like phone use while driving, and our safest and most engaged users are many times less likely to have an accident than the average driver.

We are looking for an experienced Web Developer to be responsible for the coding, innovative design, and layout of our customer web portal.

Responsibilities:

• Write well designed, testable, efficient code using best software development practices
• Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices
• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
• Create and maintain software documentation
• Be responsible for implementing new features and maintaining and scaling the portal as needed
• Collaborate with web designers to match visual design intent

Requirements:

Senior Mobile Platforms Release Engineer

Cambridge, MA

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Platforms Release Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the build and release process for our Android and iOS mobile libraries and white label apps.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain software tools to automate the build, test and release process of all of CMT’s mobile products including CMT’s Android and iPhone apps and CMT’s mobile software development kit (SDK)
  • Maintain a continuous integration for build and test automation
  • Maintain a continuous deployment system to upload release candidates to Fabric Crashlytics, the Google Play Store, and Apple App Store TestFlight
  • Trace and debug complex build problems, release issues and environment issues
  • Coordinate release activities with project managers, the QA and development teams to ensure smooth releases
  • Configure new white label apps

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Solid understanding and practical experience of the software development life cycle, with particular emphasis on release engineering functions
  • Experience with scripting languages such as ruby, Python, or bash
  • Experience with build tools like make and SCONS
  • Experience with source control frameworks such as git and svn
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Able to operate with minimal supervision to achieve objectives

Desired qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Build and Release Engineer with an emphasis on mobile app build and release
  • 2+ years of experience in building and maintaining continuous integration pipelines
  • Experience with Android build tools such as gradle, Android Studio, and proguard
  • Experience with iOS build tools including XCode, xcodebuild, and fastlane
  • Familiarity with Objective-C, Swift, and Java
  • Experience with preparing and submitting apps to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store

Data Scientist

Cambridge, MA

As a Data Scientist on our data team, you would handle a diverse set of problems, ranging from probabilistic inference on phone trajectories, data fusion between noisy sensors, modeling and classification of driving behavior, and data visualization.  Given the scale of data involved, many of the experiments run in the cloud.

Your role:

  • Understanding data flow in a large, distributed system
  • Designing, coding and executing data investigations
  • Performing robust statistical analyses
  • Producing internal presentations, customer reports and visualizations to summarize the conclusions

Required Skills:

  • Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • 3+ years performing data analysis on real world data
  • Strong programming skills for constructing and understanding data pipelines, particularly in Python (scipy/numpy) and SQL
  • Experience with modern/emerging scalable computing platforms and languages (e.g. Spark)
